Our range of Glossy, fully pigmented, highly press-stable, waterbased, flexographic inks for printing paper (particularly labels). board and films.

 

Properties        Water-reducible

                           Strong, glossy prints, wet rub-resistant within 1-2 hours

                           Very clean printing, even on fine type

                           Very high press stability and resolubility

                           Fast drying

                           Low foaming

                           Low odour

                           Non flammable

                           Wash-up with water

                           Thermal transfer ribbon -receptive

                           Heat resistant to 220 feg.C. (200 deg.on non-T/C paper)

 

 

 

Substrates         Paper (particularly self-adhesive label paper).

                           Board.   

                           Some synthetics (please ask for advice).       

                           T/C and non- T/C thermal papers (see General Information).

 

 

Thinners             Normal - Water.

                           Accelerator - IPS 1 (isopropanol).

                           Retarder - Propylene glycol (small quantities).

 

 

Drying                 Absorption.

                            Evaporation, assisted by forced (warm) air flow.

 

Aniloxes              400 lines/inch (160 lines/cm) screen, cell volume 2.8 cu.mm/sq.in.

                            will acheive Pantone Book strength in all solid colours.

                            For process colours use 600-800 lines/inch (240-320 lines/cm).

                            Boston inks have excellent water-dilution characteristics.

 

General               An F.D.A - approved anti-foam is available.

Information            

                           Boston inks are available with lightfastness, if required.

 

                           An overlacquer may be required on some gloss and coated papers

                           to acheive maximum resistance properties immediately.

 

                           The heat resistance of Boston inks has been tested to 220 deg. C,

                           ink to foil on non-T/C thermal paper.  However, customers should

                           always satisfy themselves that the ink has sufficient heat

                           resistance for their particular thermal paper, especially on non-T/C.

 

Health and         Boston inks are commercially lead-free and cadmium-free.
