ANTIBACTERIAL COATINGS - ISOTECT

This is a product which can be waterbased, solvent-based, UV curable or any ink type, and can built

into any existing ink system (e.g. Taunton AP, Hilton etc).  It can also be prepared as an overprint

varnish for plain substrates or to protect existing prints.

The active ingredient in IsoTect coatings is already being used successfully for many applications

within the NHS, including wall panel coatings and lacquers for furniture.  It also finds application in

the manufacture of antbacterial sprays and wipes.

The product works by creating a printed surface which actively inhibits the growth of most common

bacteria,  including e.coli, c.difficile and MRSA.  It is also effective against many viruses, and as the

active ingredient was originally developed as an antifungal additive it retains this property as well.

Potential applications for this product are many and various:

Wallpaper, particularly for nurseries and kitchens.

Flexible packaging for foods e.g. crisps, frozen foods.

Pharmaceutical packaging e.g foil blister packs.

Adhesive labels for jars and tins.

The active ingredient in IsoTect can be added by us to an existing product, should the customer

have a product he does not wish to change for any specific reason.  This procedure must

however be done by Cavendish in our factory.

The Antimicrobial properties last for the lifetime of the coating,  as long as the coating is complete

and coherent.

HOW DOES ISOTECT WORK?

-It prevents the bacteria's access to nutrients so they starve and die.

-It has a bacterial kill rate of 99.9% over a 24 hour period.

-It remains effective for the life of the coating because of its inherently low water solubility.

customers have appropriate tests performed on the finished coated surface to satisfy themselves

as to the effectivenss of our product in the customer's particular application.  Cavendish can

recommend testing laboratories to this if required.

However, specimen certificates are available to show results obtained by other customers in

different applications if this would be useful.
